I was commissioned to make this portrait for the new interactive series "Mosaic" directed by Steven Soderbergh for HBO. In addition to a mini series on HBO, Mosaic has been released as an app where you go through the narrative in a branching, non-linear fashion.

I drew this portrait of the incredible Sun Ra for the Los Angeles Archivist Collective's digital magazine "Acid Free" - it was the cover story for their 4th issue themed around the Occult. Art direction by my friend Grace Danico!
For the Winter 2018 issue of the Columbia Journalism Review I was commissioned to create 12 spot illustrations for a series of articles about attacks on journalists and suppression of information.

Recently I created some concept art & 3D models for "Your Hands Are Feet", a fun/weird/surreal/absurd series of VR experiences made by my dear friend Sarah Rothberg and her collaborator Amelia Winger-Bearskin with a grant from Engadget. My 3D models were created in Medium, a sculpting program for virtual reality made by Oculus.
This one was for an article written by the painter David Salle for Surface Magazine, about his relationship to cooking and history working in kitchens.

I've recently been working for Virtual Reality applications. These images were all made within VR, using a new sculpting program called Medium by Oculus.
Dory Bavarsky is my brother. Dory Bavarsky is also Hazy Ester, his pseudonym for this wonderful album of Bach Inventions performed and arranged by Dory for Moog synthesizer.
I love working for the New York Times Op-Ed section. The deadlines are fast, the work is meaningful and I feel lucky to get to participate.

Beutler Ink commissioned me to design a poster depicting some of the highs and lows of 2016, in the manner of Hieronymous Bosch's "Garden of Earthly Delights"
Work on this began right around Election Day 2016 and continued for nearly a month, a month in which the world changed quite a bit.
